The image of a canal near my parents’ house in Venice. In the canal, a small wooden boat is sinking due to heavy rain.

I took this photograph during the first days of January. It seemed very strong to me and it also seemed to me that it could well represent the state of health of the planet and its inhabitants. A sinking planet.

In this last year of “health crisis”, in Italy the causes of this pandemic have not yet been shared in a public space. There is no discussion about a reform of the public health system to make it more efficient for those living in the country. There is no political discussion related to a profound and true ecological transition we all urgently need.

Unfortunately, without questioning the current production system, the boat will be destined to disappear into the waters.
